Not sure bout the biggest but i know for sure these 18's fit with a 1.5" drop. 19's with a rubberband tire might go also. IMO i wouldn't go past 18's.

Nobody actually answered the question.

With super expensive low profile tires you can go 20s.

Dime bag Darrel, huh? I think big rims on an older car is just odd to begin with, but that's just me.
To keep your car as a daily driven car, doing all the things a daily driven car does. I'll recommend nothing bigger than 18s...unless, you're going for a donkadonk, then put the biggest wheel you want.
As you go up in diameter, it gets harder and harder to find smaller widths to fit into smaller wheel wells. You have to consider the control arms and the full turn radius of the steering system.

With the lowest profile tire you can buy on 20's. I don't think they will go without any type of modification. They might bolt up but you wouldn't be able 2 turn.

Thanks for the help. Not looking for a 20 or anything like that, but my friend had a 93 and he put 17s on it and he barly had the room for it. I don't think the had lowpros on it though. I accually have a set of 16s off 2nd gen and i think i might get them re coated for mine. Thanks for the help. D-C
