Default 96 Spyder Water Pump ?

Have to replace it and the timing belt was just done 3k ago. Been told $525 to do the water pump. Is this a fair price? New to the club, so please be kind.

NO!!! you can get a water pump for less then $100 go to advanceauto.com and look there the most expensive one is only like $98. so $425 for installation? its not worth it. if you dont know how to do it go get a chiltons repair manual and the water pump and it will explain how to do it.Then again i do everything myself so im not sure how much they charge to do it but that seems like way too much.

go to the dealer for the water pump it is like 110 and i bet it is better quality than the $98 one. also if you do not know how to do a timing belt on a a interference motor than i suggest taking it to somone becuase all the tention needs to be taken off the belt and it prob will have to be put back into time also find out if the tentioner was replaced with the timing belt if not do it because if the water pump and timing belt needed replaced that the tentioner is not far behind.

The timing belt you just had replaced 3K miles ago has to come back off to do the water pump... so basically, that IS a fair price for parts and labor. It's one of those things that you should have had done when the timing belt was replaced....
