Default Cams?????

Alright i gotta quick ques. I dont wanna do a turbo swap on my 97 GST spyder. My supporting mods are at the bottom. Now that thats out of the way i was thinking of upgrading the cams. My question is it beneficial to put some HKS cams on my stock turbo setup? Im currently running 15 psi on the T-25. Also if i do upgrade the cams do i need to buy the HKS springs? What size cams would be suitable for my setup the 264's or the 272's? Is there anything else i would need when replaceing the cams, like retainers, valves, ect? What brands do you guys recommend if not HKS? Heres the link i was lookin at.

Default RE: Cams?????

it would be a very bad idea. cams give you lots of top end power, and you may actually lose some low/mid range power with them. the t25 is a mid range turbo and falls flat on its face past 5k rpms (very bad combo) also, why would you want to get cams and not a bigger turbo. cams are harder to install, you will need fuel management to tune them, and you will not be able to pass smog with them. if you do ever get them, make sure you have a bigger turbo first. yes get springs/retainters, they will allow you to rev higher(~8krpms) 264's are a worthless upgrade they dont make much power for the money they cost, if you are going to spend money on cams, get 272's
