Faulty speedometer?
Hey guys,
This may be a very n00b question but my speedometer is jacked up. Whenever I drive it bounces up and down. It doesn't go below the actual speed i'm traveling. But it does got past it. For example, If i am driving at 40 mph it will shoot up to 80 then come down. Then it will go up to 60 and come down.
The second problem is the tripmeter(i think that is what its called). It's not displaying the correct information. Its telling me that I get 385 miles per tank....I wish that was true. XD
btw i'm driving a 96 Spyder gs (non-turbo)

RE: Faulty speedometer?
ORIGINAL: Sebba
My bet is on the speed sensor. If the gauge is showing anything at all its unlikely that its bad. If its erratic, then my bet is the sensor.

RE: Faulty speedometer?
So it turns out my rear motor mount needed to be replaced. The vibrations of the engine screwed up my speed sensor...
replaced motor mount and adjusted speed sensor...now everything is working fine...XD
