Default How to make a GST beat a stock Mustang GT?

I have a 95 GST and i want to know what mods it would take for me to beat a stock 99-04 mustang GT. (Assume 5-speed)

My plans are intake, exhaust, 1g BOV, down-pipe, (getting rid of the catalytic converter) boost controller and boost gauge.

This race is also assuming from a roll. (40-45ish)

What else do you think i would need, or is this close?

i don't think the t-too small turbo will cut it, id say those mods with maybe a 14b at 15-16 psi good tires, and nice driving and that might get you there

Get an EVOIII 16g on top of all that, then go to a small light aircraft airport, and fill up on avgas. Then you can crank the boost up a lil more safely.

So:

Intake
Exhaust
Turbo
1gbov
MBC
Boost Gauge

you guys know that a GT is only a mid to low 14 sec car. And yes the stock turbo will easily get you there, you can actually push the T25 to the mid 13's ( though i wouldnt suggest it.) your best bet is stick to the bolt ons and then run 15 psi, i think youll be happy with that if its a decent running car you get into that area

You can get away with 17.... maybe even 19psi with avgas. (with the stock turbo)

Where can i get a cheap boost gauge? Not too cheap, but one that isn't fancy...I don't need all that, but at the same time i want one that will work...

What are typical prices?

I think I'll stick with the stock turbo and all the mods at first. Then, if i'm not happy i'll get a 14b...

Also, how does putting a 14b on the car make it faster, although the psi your running is the same? Sorry, I'm not sure how these turbos work...

yea i forgot the gt wasn't that fast, do all the bolt ons mentioned above and run 15 psi and you'll be happy you'll be able to take it out, autometer boost gauges run like 60 bucks and then you need a pod or something to mount it, the 14b makes it faster because it flows more than the t25, more flow is more air which will get you more power in simple terms, not to mention the t25 wont hold those 15 pounds till redline it will run out of breath at maybe 4500-5k rpms and then die down to 10psi or so but the 14b will hold it till redline

Its all about air volume. 15psi from the stock turbo is a drop in the ocean compared to 15 psi from a GT35R. The difference is the volume of air it moves, make sense?

Oh, and he nailed it with the cheap gauge. Check around your local performance shops too.... find a sale some place.

They sell for super cheap dude. You should have no problem finding one for that price.

You can go to a junk yard and look for an old 1g, they have the 14b. Just so you know, its 14b and not 14g.
