How to Remove Engine Mount Bolts@!
Replacing the timing belt due to clatter coming from this area. Don't flame me here - I have done a search and seen several write - ups on this but am stuck.
Motor is a 420A 2.0 Non Turbo '98 RS.
I have the right motor mount off and all drive belts have been removed. The 3 bolts holding the mount
to the block are very long and will not clear the frame rail. Most write ups simply say to remove the mount w/ no further instructions. Am I missing something here?
I have jacked the engine up/down and cannot find the clearance. Do I need to remove the other front lower mount to getmore engine clearance?
This job is a real PITA!

RE: How to Remove Engine Mount Bolts@!
Spoke w/ other who has referenced the Haynes manual - states that it simply says to remove upper mount and bracket. There is a hole in the frame that has a nice little plastic plug in it. However it is about 2 inches to the left of the bolt that is giving me the most trouble. It appears that there was a belt job done before mine.

i did mine n a friends like this.
remove the mount by the steering pump and by the battery.
MAKE SURE U HAVE 2 JACKS, ONE UNDER THE OIL PAN AND ONE UNDER THE TRANNY. MAKE SURE THEY ARE PARALLEL SO THEY CAN MOVE.
when you have the motor mounts off get another person to help u push and pull the motor to the battery side. lower the oilpan side and ull have enough clearence
