Hard car to find performance parts for....Try and get the basics like intake, exhaust, an cams(?) maybe? Or save up and swap to a turbo engine. Sorry, there's just not that much info on those cars....

ah, you got stuck with the 1.8. i sorry man! lol...honestly, what i would do, there is plenty of eclipse, plymouth lasers and eagle talons around. i would find you atleast a 2.0. thats what i would do. i kno what your talking about my friend has a 1.8 and its sloow. he has been working on that car for awhile now and...i dont know thats what i would do. when you drive one with the 2.0 you can really tell the difference, especially if its a turbo.

Not expensive if your a do it yourselfer and if you find a good deal on a eclipse, talon, laser that has been wrecked or something. you can find these cars in junk yards everywhere!! the 2.0 bolts right up spyderGS now if you wanted to get into the tranny and shtt than thats a diff story. but thats completely your decision. before you decide you might want to ask yourself if you are up to hunting an engine and taking it out and putting it into this car. I would do that, honestly but i have the time to mess with things like that and i have the facility to. lata..

I'm pretty sure the 1.8L motors are hard to find parts for, except for the basics. Keep in mind there are no CAI's for the 1g model car, so you'll be stuck with short ram intakes, header, cat-back exhaust, downpipe, etc.

Making a non-turbo motor fast by means of all motor costs a LOT of money and a LOT of time, and even then they'll only be pushen 300ish tops...if even, before you must go turbo.

Now, as for a swap, I'm not to positive on the 1g N/A cars, but I'm pretty sure the motor mounts would be in different locations, the tranny would be on the opposite side, a LOT of rewiring would be required, battery relocation, axles, etc. They face in opposite directions I believe. I know for sure they do on the 2g...but I've never bothered asking a 1g n/a to pop the hood..
