so do i need a 1000 dollar intercooler or is an intercooler an intercooler??? i mean really, doesn't it just cool the air flowing through it? does a name cool it more?? can i get some cheapie off e-bay or do i need to fork over the big bucks for a name like greddy etc.?

 

An intercoolers job is to flow air, and cool it as well. Personally I would opt to get a slow boy racing fmic kit with a greddy bov flange for 870( its cheap and works well) but a large(supra) smic would flow better thus being more functional. ITs been long debated every where though, each side has cooler intake charge numbers and cfm flow charts to back their points, I suggest that you go with what you like.

 

honestly you really dont need to get the high priced ones. As long as you make sure the one you get off ebay isnt going to be a POS. Ussually they will suit you fine. Right now NESpeed has an intercooler that he got off ebay and did all the piping himself and it works just fine
