RE: Need Help!! 420a Cam Timing Marks!!!
No, jackass...you didnt. I had to figure it out on my own, you said "half a tooth" the damn intake cam was 180 degrees off....do you know what 180 degrees is?... That is one half of a revolution, more like 30 or 40 teeth, or to be more precise, one half of the number of total teeth on the cam, to make it elementary for you. All you did was tell me what I already knew. Thanks for nothing, and way to be a smartass...do you feel like a big boy now?

the propper way to align the timing marks up is to have them pointing directly towards eachother, not one up one down or opposite or anything like that

First, I think you mean "wad", not waud (whatever the hell that is.) Second, my cam gears have two marks each, directly across from each other. I suppose so you can make sure they are horizontal with the head, but I don't know. Third, if you go back and read all the posts, that is why I was asking about the dowel pins that hold the cam gears on to the cams, not the timing marks on the cams themselves. And, last but not least...it seems alot of your posts that I have read on this forum make you sound like a total smartass.
I know, I know...I am a smartass too, but only when called for.
And now my friend, I have told you the problem...hmm

i wasn't being a smart *** at all in this thread, this is the first time i have ever dealt w/ you so i wanted to give up front advice. from what i read in your posts it sounded like the timing marks WERE either 90 or 180 off. i was trying to straighten you out. i'm only a smart *** when 1 the question is stupid or 2 i know the person i'm talking to.

If you took the timing belt apart a #1 TDC where the timing marks point at one another- you wouldn't have had anything to worry about in the 1st place. Even if the cam moved due to valve spring tension- the marks on the sprocket will indicate which way it moved.
