hey guys, I have another newbie question about the oil pressure and temp gauge. I have a 98 GST with 67,500miles. When at idle, where should the oil pressure gauge be reading? Mine seems low, under the bottom hash mark, but I'm new to this car so maybe it could be normal. When driving, it usually sits between the 2 hash marks..... Also, my temp gauge usually sits at 3/4 to the top, which seems alittle high, my nissan maxima temp gauge never went over 1/2, but I guess no 2 imports are alike. Any way, I havent had this dsm a week yet and I love it. It seems I've been missing out! I dread the thought of going back to a automatic sedan

 

the oil pressure is going to be low at idle....thats normal as long as your oil light doesnt come on. The temp should go over half way on the guage. Try doing a cooling system flush and changing the thermostat.

Um...had a thermostat problem myself, one of the guys told me to take the thermostat out and but it into a pot of boiling water to see if it would open or not, also, stock ones usually open at about 190 degrees so as the guy told me, attempt to find one that opens at 180 just to safe. Good luck man.

 

any napa store should have the 180 or 185. its in that range, not sure on the exact one though
