Could be a fluke. Try resetting it.

that code is an idle system malfunction. There are a few things that could cause this. Here is the order in which you should do things to fix it

1. Clean the throttle body. Then reset the code. If it comes back then go to step 2.
2. Adjust the BISS if it appears there is a low or high idle issue. Again reset the battery and see if it returns
3. Check for any vacuum leaks.
4. Change out the IAC. There is a way to test it but i dont remember the correct ohms. Check vfaq for that
5. Change out the TPS. Hopefully the first three steps fixed the problem. But if not it may have to do with the TPS.

cool, i'll try to fix that thanks. my other code is p1400 which is the manifold differential pressure sensor, but i need a new one, mines out, and it's expensive.

I'd check for leaks first. Does your idle surge while at idle...at idle with a cold motor....at idle after warming up?
Then again you MDPS could be throwing idle off. How do you know this part is bad? Those things are tough and you don't hear about MDP sensors going bad enough for me to point to that part. If you've already ohm'd it out and everthing checks bad, then I can't debate that, lol.

yeah it's bad, i checked the ohms on it and it is out, it's just about 120 or so from most of the part stores, and i cant seem to find 'em anywhere. I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy one.

speaking of the IAC what is that and how do you get one ive heard that the idle problem i had was because of the IAC, i had a code that said tps and replaced that made the light go off but didnt fix the problem, im in the same boat with you darknigh7th

The IAC is the Idle Air Control Module. It is what controls the air at idle though vacuum lines. He just said he was able to get one through mistubishigraveyard which is a great place to find used parts.
