Default choosing the right turbo...

i have read all about turbos and what the differences are and looked at all kinds of turbos... but i am wondering from anyones experience what would be the best turbo for a 1998 eclipse gst and i am gonna wanna push close to 400 whp. i was wondering what turbo you think would be best to handle that power and spool up quickly... i dont want a turbo at the peak of its limits. though... thanks alot. i have a few in mind, just wanna know what others think! thanks!!!

well i saw this turbo and thought it was badass... even though it is kinda pricey.... what ya think? it is like a direct bolton it looks like... but i would get it externally gated....

Ive got a t3/t4 (.50) on my 95 TSi... which is the Eagle equivilant of your car. Theres a decent amount of power (IMO) coming from that.

You have FWD, the spool time will keep you from spinning off the line real bad anyway. THough it doesnt take too long... mine doesnt anyway.

yeah, but i am not much of an off the line kinda guy.... i just like the ability to be cruising and floor it and get thrown back in my seat that starts spooling early... i dont want a turbo that starts to spool at like 4 grand.. thats just retarded... lol... i like hitting full boost before then.... i have some in mind like a said.. just would like input.. and i do appreciate it... and yer turbo was on my list =).. lol

Whats your mods. My 16 g is lazy compared to all yours then. I would be at 0 psi till 3K then reach stock boost at like 3.5k

that's not pricey for a BB turbo... it's actually a lil cheap IMO. if you are still taking suggestions i'd say check out www.forcedperformance.com they make some GREAT turbo's for a lot of cars including ours. when i get my gsx and start building i'm gonna be running a FP3065 capable of apx 650whp. and pushin about 550hopefully
