Truly depends on driver. Opinion-the SI will Crap on the eclipses...b16 I presume not the best on torque. But very good motor for high end RPM. +Vtec which engages I believe at 4400Rpm. The weight difference is a few hundred pounds.b16 torque & hp specs.
Displacement (CC): 1595
Compression: 10.2:1
Horsepower: 160 hp @ 7,600 rpm
Torque: 111 ft·lb @ 7,000 rpm
Redline: 8,000 rpm; 8,200 rpm cutoff

I think you would take a Civic SI. Not a newer one, but in those years they only came with the 160hp engine and your car has about 200hp. Now even though his car has about an 800lb weight advantage on you, that still wont make up for it. I mean on a good driver the eclipse will win.

No actually. It will be close. I know from experience with these cars. I had a GT 5spd that I ran a SI with. My car had Invidia exhaust and Injen CAI. The Civic was stock. We went from a roll. I pulled at first (v6 low end tq advantage over the I4) then up top he caught up and passed me buy about a half of car.

This was in a Spyder so it is heavier than the coupe. Which will make you have a better chance, the cars are pretty Even.

Just and FYI the GT is rated at 200 but it is really on like 160WHP because of the weight and tranny that in a 5spd. Autos are even worse.
