Can A 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT beat a 2000 Honda Civic Si
Can a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT beat a Honda Civic SI? anyone know? my friend says his honda will destroy me because its lighter weight and he says my eclipse only comes with 140hp stock but i sware i thought it said 205 hp somewhere...anyone help?

I think you would take a Civic SI. Not a newer one, but in those years they only came with the 160hp engine and your car has about 200hp. Now even though his car has about an 800lb weight advantage on you, that still wont make up for it. I mean on a good driver the eclipse will win.

No actually. It will be close. I know from experience with these cars. I had a GT 5spd that I ran a SI with. My car had Invidia exhaust and Injen CAI. The Civic was stock. We went from a roll. I pulled at first (v6 low end tq advantage over the I4) then up top he caught up and passed me buy about a half of car.
This was in a Spyder so it is heavier than the coupe. Which will make you have a better chance, the cars are pretty Even.
Just and FYI the GT is rated at 200 but it is really on like 160WHP because of the weight and tranny that in a 5spd. Autos are even worse.
