Default heat problem

2001 eclipse spyder
heater is only blowing out luke warm.car not overheating and a mechanic that looked at it says the heat doors are opening fine and the blower is working fine, and also the thermostat is ok,and car is not overheating.thinks it may be the heater core.

Default Have you tried this?

I had a similar problem last year in my 01 Spyder. My coolant level was good and no leaks or coolant smell from heater. Like yours everything seemed to work except temp was low. I took it in to the local oil change shop and had the coolant back-flushed and changed. Heater has worked great since. This may or may not work for you but you probably need this done anyway. Good luck
