Rim Size , Wheel Offset Help
Hi
I have a 2000 Mitsu. Eclipse Gt. I recently destroyed the stock rims in an unfortunate accident and aquired a good deal on a set of 17" rims and tires . I only noticed after purchase that the fellow had mistaken the size of the tires on them, which was 225/55/r17. The stock rims were 215/50/r17. i installed them and there is now rubbing occuring. Now the questions,
1. Is it a height issue (55)vs.(50) 2. A width issue (225)vs.(215) 3. Could it be the offset of the new rims?(17x7-5/4 x100/114.3)4. CouldI put a 215/50/r17 tire on theaftermarket rims?
The car has factory suspension setups. Solutionsto myproblem(s) are greatly appreciated,
Thank You
