Question Crank, no Start

Hi friends, new member to this forum and I have an issue... I have a 2007 eclipse 3.7L .... a week and a half ago the starter went.. Pretty routine change, nothing crazy no problems... Got in cranked and well... wouldn't fire.. Soooo here's what I've checked..

Fuel at the pump, fuel at the rail, no spark, voltage good on all circuits, grounds have been checked and those in poor shape were replaced.... Thought.. maybe an ECU reset would do the trick... power disconnect 30 minutes later.. Nothing... still no spark.. Brought the code scanner in, cannot connect to ECU......

Sooo I'm out of ideas... anyone have anything?
At this point its more of the challenge of solving the puzzle than anything else.
Soooo lets hear the ideas folks! ^_^

If a code reader can't connect to your ECU, maybe the ECU is bad.
