If you could help me with this problem, I would really appreciate it. Mylittle LRV is running, but every once in awhile the engine stalls and the check engine light comes on. The engine hesitates and stops running for a second, then it continues to run normally.

I have been driving it with the overdrive turned off for some time because it does not run at all at high speeds with the overdrive turned on. I understand that this is a common transmission problem with this model. Perhaps there is a connection between the two problems.

has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong?

I am not familiar with your car but it sounds to me like the converter is staying locked up sometimes. I had the same thing happen in a topaz once.
