can you guys tell me here what i have to take off this motor to pull it out of the car--does the tranny and transfer case have to come off?? can someone post a link that lays it all out for me???

View Full Version : 93 eclipse GSX motor pull petro4411 11-20-2005, 04:26 AM can you guys tell me here what i have to take off this motor to pull it out of the car--does the tranny and transfer case have to come off?? can someone post a link that lays it all out for me??? slow420a 11-20-2005, 09:56 AM everything thats connected to the block.... tranny, sensors, fuel lines,vac hoses, ect. get435 11-20-2005, 10:16 AM there are two ways to kae it out you can take all the motor mounts off and the drivetrain connections along with all the tranny connections to any other part of teh car and lift car up and there ya are or the simple hard way out the top and unbolt everthing including tranny not transfercase. petro4411 11-20-2005, 11:28 AM thanks ----i'm going to try it out the bottom--seems to me the more stuff i can unbolt when the motor is out --the better ---the motor has a clanging noise from the low end--crank walk??? i read somewhere that the second half of ig cars were 7 bolt blocks is this true?? he put in a new clutch and 3rd gear before the low end noise--other than noise-car is loaded and mint--paid $700-is this a reasonable price for this car???----thanks for your help pete slow420a 11-21-2005, 10:34 AM 89-92 were the only 6 bolts, everything else is a 7 bolt. Use this as an excuse to drop a 6 bolt in. FireDoc 11-24-2005, 03:01 PM Make sure that when you start unplugging things that you label each end of everything you disconnect. It makes getting it running much easier when you don't have to try to figure out where the other end of the plugs are.(some are in strange places) |
