View Full Version : This sucks
PooT_Nation 03-17-2006, 04:28 AM Hey, remember that video of the GSX who raced the BMW and suffered crankwalk? Ya, that **** sucked.
I was on video.google.com and found the same video but it shows what happened to the engine.

poor gsx [X(]
WIECLIPSEGUY 03-17-2006, 04:45 AM Wow, Hope that I can get a heads up if this is ever to happen to me with my 97' GSX.
Silvertooth 03-17-2006, 09:10 AM Holy cow....damn, that ****'s just crazy....
EMonz57 03-17-2006, 09:21 AM that is too funny, what a couple of clowns. I almost threw up when I saw his crack finger nail. why else is one finger nail like 3 inches long.
ictponder 03-17-2006, 09:25 AM Look at that guy's pinky finger nail when he's holding that connecting rod. Wonder what he does in his spare time *sniff sniff*

that is what I was saying in my last post.... pluss look as the motor blows up in the race the camera looks down at his lap and there is a plastic baggy on his lap and he sounds all cracked out to lol
Sanguinius 03-17-2006, 03:06 PM And am I the ONLY one that noticed that the idiot sitts there at the light and redlines bouncing the rev limiter? I mean Cmon if that isn't ASKING for a crankwalking engine to shyt itself..... He coulda pulled the race off if he weren't an idiot...
Silvertooth 03-17-2006, 03:14 PM Are you serious?! God damn I didn't even notice that. holy **** what moron.

have any of you guys ever seen AWD cars launch??? 90% of AWD drivers bounce the rev limiter on the start because it biulds little sperts of boost and gives you hi RPM take offs. NESpeed and Myself never do that I do a 6K launch and that is more than enough for me.
I mean sang that video you posted asking if it was me messing around of the Black EVO beating that cobra he did the same thing
Sanguinius 03-17-2006, 05:03 PM I don't think I had the sound on for that one so I didn't notice it. I understand bouncing the rev limiter but for as long as he did? Couldn't POSSIBLY be good for the crankwalk issue.

ya well the EVO guy did for just as long. Some AWD guys just rev up and down from 6k-7k really fast because that works the same way
PooT_Nation 03-18-2006, 08:14 PM what's the best way of launching with the FWD? if i rev too much i'll burn out, if i dont rev enough i'll turbo lag. is there a happy medium?

not really...like 2000 RPMs and lag
PooT_Nation 03-19-2006, 03:59 AM damn, that's sucky
oh well.
I guess i'll go out and continue to work on my launches. I got really good with the old honda.
TheEngineer 03-20-2006, 11:55 AM Its all about feathering the gas i believe. I havn't done it in a while, nor was a very good when i had a FWD. But i think you need to feather the gas a bit first.

2500-3200 drag the clutch a bit while giving the car 75% throttle and then once she is moving pretty good mash the gas.
TheEngineer 03-20-2006, 01:36 PM Isn't it kinda a flow of letting off the clutch and pushing on the gas kinda simultaneously.
slow420a 03-20-2006, 01:57 PM Thats what I ment, if you chekco out the vid I made in OT about my car(2 months ago) it shows me launching like that.
EMonz57 03-21-2006, 02:51 PM that video is so long gone...it must be like 3-4 pages back now lol
slow420a 03-21-2006, 05:31 PM more than that
Sanguinius 03-21-2006, 09:05 PM Yeah definately more than that LOL
EMonz57 03-21-2006, 09:10 PM when was that posted anyway
Sanguinius 03-22-2006, 12:05 AM Oh good god that's like asking when exactly did dinousaurs become extinct...
skyline 03-27-2006, 07:30 PM dude that sucks for the guy, but he definatly didn't know how to push his car. I mean who actually tries to lauch their car at the redline? That's just stupid.

Its AWD almost all AWD people do. that is why he is doing that
skyline 03-27-2006, 07:38 PM But u don't. I mean 6k is defiantly not red line for the Evo. u just have to know @ what rpm u can launch with out loosing any traction and still take off fast
TheEngineer 03-27-2006, 09:22 PM well the only thing with the awd is that you dont have to worry about traction you can launch as high as you want. As long as your not pushing really high HP. All you have to do is make sure you come offf the clutch allitle slow so you dont bog the car out. This kid is just dumb because he lets the friggin rev limiter sit there for so long. Its not good to do that anyway. But i bet he figured. Alright i'll preboosst a bit and smoke him, haha
skyline 03-28-2006, 10:20 AM Lol yeah. Still I wouldn't try launching at redline anyways. It kills ur clutch and when u hold it as long as that dude did before launching ur bound to do a little engine damage. After a few lauches like that i'm not suprised he busted a couple pistons.
Sanguinius 03-28-2006, 10:52 AM That's what I'm sayin. Bounce the limiter a little fine but this ****-o sat there bouncin it for a WHILE.
EMonz57 03-28-2006, 11:50 AM If you bounce it hard off the limiter you build sperts of boost so you will get a harder launch it you launch like I do at 6k then you have 0 PSI on the launch gotta waite on lag for anything I only so that becaise I dont want to have to pull a tranny off and Transfer case to be replaced. really him hitting the limiter like that is no different from a car drifting sideways they bounce off the limiter so hard untill you straighten out I have done that in my car before John was with my actually lol
Sanguinius 03-28-2006, 12:52 PM I can understand that but there's a difference. Like I said I can understand doing it just not as long as he did and also during a drift you're still under load.

yea i remeber that. Nice one right in the rain, only because i forgot my plane ticket[:@]
skyline 03-28-2006, 07:08 PM LOL that sucks. But in drifting they actually have crazy nice clutches that can handle all that and they usually have a built bottom end not stock.

Im not talking drift cars Im talking street driving and kicking out I do it every now and then.
As for from a stop the longer you sit on the limiter the more constant the boost stays at first it wont have any thing a few seconds later it will spret like 1-4 PSI maybe and you can launch it at a higher PSI than 0 so it makes a differnce
EMonz57 03-28-2006, 11:13 PM I mean if from a stop I floor the gas on a rev by redline I will have about 13-15 PSI but to time it right and drop the clutch is almost impossible to do
skyline 03-30-2006, 11:06 AM I know u weren't talking about drifting but there was someone else talking about how in drifting they bump the limiter all the time and that's becuase they have killer clutch setups.
EMonz57 03-30-2006, 09:38 PM no man my stock clutch when I am sideways I crank off the limiter as does NESpeed RX7. it just bounces off it untill traction is found
skyline 03-31-2006, 02:09 PM Well, i'll be seeing u talking about buying a new clutch soon then...............LOL jk
EMonz57 03-31-2006, 04:35 PM ORIGINAL: skyline
Well, i'll be seeing u talking about buying a new clutch soon then...............LOL jk
the rev limiter has nothing to do with your clutch. Power output maybe but I am not near the edge of that yet. my stock EVO clutch is at almost 30K now and still grabs as hard has it did at 12k no slipping what so ever. If I launch the piss out of it for a while ill blow it out pretty quick
skyline 04-01-2006, 03:08 PM That's cool. I thought u were saying u double clutch when ur drifting and hitting the rev limiter cause then u would defiantly be burning ur clutch bad. But ur right.

oh ok...I was like huh how is that burning the clutch lol. I am on borrowed time with my stock clutch since on average they are gone at 15-20k and I am at 29k now. That tells you the car is taken care of lol no launching or any of that. same with stock brake pads they are normally toast at about 12k and mine are still stock ones...I just need new calipers because they are turning pink and white , which is common on the EVO and it is covered under warrenty
skyline 04-03-2006, 12:04 PM that's understandable
GSXPimp 06-13-2006, 01:30 AM wow.........dude all i can say is wow........
