MMCS Data Files - Japanese to English
Hi All.
Can someone please point me in the right direction for the data files that I need to install over the top of my j-01 version MMCS to have the language to English. I have spent hours reading previous posts in threads and I know that it has been done before however all the old links are broken so a fresh link to these files would be great.
Or if someone has these files and can share them over dropbox that would be great. Once I have them I would be more than happy to seed the data.
I have everything I need to unlock the hard drive but I am just missing the data files.
Also if someone could confirm the correct files to search for on google that would be good as I seem to come up empty on there as well.
Thanks in Advance

As mentioned in the other thread...
Just a note boys and girls - if you are doing this on the j-01
If you use this file with this method and you haven't done the other steps correctly - the next time your battery is flat or is replaced the MMCS will fail at the next boot-up with Japanese load disk error.

If you don't remove the security off the HDD then the passwords in this file are different to the unit so it will lock down the hard drive.

I still want to do this but everytime I get close to starting I figure it will be stuffed up and I'll kill my MMCS. Are you in NZ and able to help should I kill it?
BTW why did they ever use Unix?

You still have the old files that were around in the old days - lol.
It's Windows CE. Linux is just the boot disk and util to unlock the HDD.

On the flipside I understand that we can run the Oz maps for NZ. Just need to hook up someone in Oz to either share maps or download onto our HDD. Believe this was somthing Valamis was working on but never heard how he got on.

I recently acquired a new Japanese import - 2007 Outlander - here in Auckland, NZ and am looking into converting the j-01 unit to english.
It seems that we need to download 2 items before we get started:
1. XBOXBHDM - an ISO of a linux utility to unlock the original xbox hard drives. This ISO must be burnt to a CD.
2. The english language files for the MMCS - once the hard drive is unlocked, this file will be used to replace the japanese file. This file was made available by W@zfa(3 in a post in another thread
https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mi...-25583/page56/
If you use the link in HJB's quotes in this thread, mega (the file host site) requires a decryption key before allowing the download to proceed - at least this is what happens for me. Using the link in the original post, I get download access to a 25MB file.
I have not been able to locate the xboxhdm ISO - does anyone have a working link to share?
I also have not yet extracted the hard drive from the car - can anyone confirm that the cable required to connect the hard drive to a pc is the standard IDE cable? Or is another cable required for "laptop" harddrives.
