Default 99 Galant po300

Replaced valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals. Tubes were oil soaked. Two weeks later got a misfire code (po300 random misfire). Replaced plugs and still have a misfire code after car gets to operating temp on freeway. Mainly after stop and go. Tach is also jumping around and sometimes dropping to zero.

I have not replaced the wires. I checked on them and there are only two. The other two cylinders are the coils. $75 for two wires and $107 per coil. I have been hesitent on replaceing due to price. If I was getting a po301,302,303, or 304 code? I would at least know if it was a coil cyl. or wire cyl.

No, It only has problems 7-10 miles down the freeway after it gets to operating temp. Cold and around town it is fine. Plus, isn't the tach. ran threw the coils? It is jumping around and sometimes stays at zero.
