hey,

I have am having a problem with my transmission...i was driving home and the car lurched and the engine shut of...i pulled of the road and when I started the car and put it in drive it wouldn't go forward....i put it park and tried again, it still wouldn't go...it wouldn't even go into reverse or any of the other gears.....i was wondering what you guys thought.....it the transmission shot...if so which year's are interchangeable? how much trouble is it to fix this? also my tcl and abs lights are on what does that mean?...are the problems connected?

The ABS shouldn't be connected but the TCL if I'm not mistaken is a Traction Control light.

So the car stopped moving and the engine died right? You started the vehicle and put it in Drive and it wouldn't move? Did the engine die again when you did that? Have you checked the trans fluid? Perhaps you're low and it's not allowing the belts to engage properly. It does sound like a trans problem though. As for the ABS and TCL lights, well those could be separate problems or they could be linked.

Hi,

Yes, the engine did die about two more times before it finally stayed on, and we did check the trans fluid and it was full. any suggestions?
