Default 2002 diamante loses all gears

No nothing, not even reverse. My wife says it did that without any untoward noises and it even rolled easy, as she was leaving a light, basically it started to move and then gave up.
Could it be electrical ?
Thanks.
Srinath.

Could you point me to a more specific component ?
The car literally like dropped into neutral after accelerating from a stop. Like got up to 15-20 and neutral.
Shifter and whatever else all feel normal.

Thanks.

'literally like', those words mean two different things.

It either literally did, or it did like...

Presumably the box is actually in neutral, otherwise its a clutch issue, so the electrics around those.

Default No oil pressure

That transmission has no oil pressure. Wavy washer strikes again ?
Cool.

Default Toast

OK the transmission was toast. Wavy broke, chewed the pump and the housing on that side cracked and started to pop its guts ...

However, that transmission was not needed to fix the car, I had a spare pulled from my other diamante ... a known good one, cos tha tcar snapped an accessory belt and that wrapped up in the timing belt and ruined the motor ... so I know transmission was good. LOL.

Anyway we put a new wavy, and new clutches in that transmisson and put that in the car.

The thing is now this transmission has a over rev on shifts. Not just 3-4 but also 2-3.

What causes the thing to do that ?
The transmisson guy said the fluid came out very dirty, which was why he put new clutches in - there was visible wear on the clutches.

Thanks.

OK That transmission works, I had 2-3 shift flare, and we fixed that by drilling the hole in the separator plate, and it went away.
But, 3-4 has a flare - which we cant tell why. But this car did that on its prior transmission too. Maybe the car, like an ECU or something has an issue.
Anyone have a 3-4 flare and if so how did they fix it.
Thanks.
