Welcome to the revamped Eclipse section. We have decided to organize everything into generations to help keep the technical information grouped with related information.

For those who are new to Eclipses and/or DSMs, and may be unsure of the generations, here is a list of the various years of the Eclipse, and the mechanically related vehicles throughout its existance.

Also, as some people do not know, "Spyder" only means that the car is a convertible, and they are mechanically similar to the hardtops of the same trim line.

My eclipse is a 2008 would I be a part of the 4th generation. I have had nothing but problems with my convertible top since I bought the car. I have had the car back to the mitsubishi dealership several times and they cannot seem to fix it. What it does is stall when putting the top down. The system is supposed to reset itself within 7 minutes but mine does not do that. Sometimes I am stuck for a full day with the top half way down. Needless to say it cannot be driven like that which has left me stranded in very unsafe areas. I no longer feel comfortable putting my top down unless I am at home.

thanks
