FQ400 Evo X to be offered in the UK
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, as it is known in the United States, has gathered quite the cult following, and since entering the market a few years back, it has taken a firm grip on the import performance market. However, overseas they are privy to a higher horsepower selection of the Evo, with the British “FQ” packages offering 300 and 360 horsepower factory versions of the all-wheel-drive high performance sedan.
The new Evo X is already making a name for itself around the world, and the British market has been stomping their feet, demanding a new FQ model based on the newest Evo, and it looks as though Mitsubishi has finally given in, as the FQ400 has been announced. Offering 400 horsepower, the FQ400 will feature a new turbocharger, an improved exhaust manifold, an upgraded fuel system, and some ECU tuning to make the advertised power, and to make the most of that power the FQ400 will feature refined suspension, brake, and aerodynamic systems.
Unfortunately, there is still no intent to offer the FQ400 here in the United States, and with an expected price tag of around 45,000 British Pounds (77,000+ USD), and the US car market in a deep slump, we don’t foresee the heavily factory modified Evo X to hit the shores any time soon.
