Mother in law's 2003 Galant has the SES light on...when Pulling the code I get

Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)

Anyone know the exact cause or fix for this?

Any help is greatly appreciated

that is a code for the trans range switch or it can be called an inhibitor switch. dealer part only. unless you get a used one. i havent seen many of those go bad, but it is an electronic part, so...... it can fail. make sure the connector is not corroded and isnt loose, i have seen that before. its located on top of the trans, big connector and the shift cable hooks to it. keep us posted. greg........
