In need of a fellow enthusiast to assist with repairs
Hey guys,
I recently started getting chattering from my 2005 Lancer ES's timing belt, at this moment its at 122,000 miles and I got it at 115k, no sign of the previous owner replacing it at this interval, manual says ever 60k, online I hear 65k as well for same car, same engine...
So I started shopping around, a dealership in Hampton, VA wants $750, a specialist $950 for that plus some recommended repairs they like to do, and another shop thats for imports in general, wanted around $650.
I'd like to not spend an entire weeks paycheck ~$700 on repairs, but this needs to be done *soon*.
Are there any fellow Lancer guys in the Virginia Beach - Norfolk area who could lend a hand with this? I can get the parts, if you can lend me your time, tools, and experience to show me how to do this repair the right way for less $ over the weekend, I'd appreciate it.
