Default 01 de swap

i have a 2001 mirage de coupe. I do not want to put forth the time to modify the 1.5 L engine enough to become what i want it to be. Wat are possible engines that i could put in it. Would a FWD 4g63t engine fit. And if so how much would it approximately cost to modify the engine bay to fit.

I think we need to make a sticky on this, cuz it's been covered about a zillion times. Unless you've got money comming out your ears and can fab your own engine mounts, and can afford to have your car down for about 3 months, you're pretty much SOL. 4g63T WILL NOT bolt into a 5th generation Mirge. That is unless you pull one out of an Evo VIII, but then you've still got to worry about motor mounts, transmission & differentials, drive shafts, converting to a 5 bolt pattern if you're wanting to keep the AWD, and a general slew of other problems. It can be done quite easily in a 4th gen car, but anybody 1997 and up has a very limited number of options when it comes to swaps. All this, and considering the fact that to correctly do a 4g63t swap into a 5g rage would cost your somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-12k. I don't know about you, but if I had 12 g's, I'd be using them as a downpayment on a real Evo.

By the way, just an afterthought, importing an Evo V motor & tranny will do you no good either, since they though they look similar, the Evo IV, V & VI use a different frame than what a USDM 5th generation Mirage does.

Welcome to the forum by the way, lol

So what !
I also have a 5G mirage and would like experts comments, not like morons like you.

For sure if I'd opened a new thread, there would be another moron telling me to look in the forum and post in already opened threads regarding this matter.

Well, I know this is a relatively new engine, but since it is a 4G15 by theory, should at least fit in a 5G Mirage tranny.

Any expert person who can tell me if at least engine to tranny are the same?

Would be nice to swap an engine like this 4G15 MIVEC in a 5G mirage. For sure Iknow that the ECU is a musT. Still don't know how to deal with the " drive by wire issue" in case that this swap was possible.
