1991 montero
Hi guys, newbie here and first post, Okay so I just bought a 91 Montero from my brother as a project 4x4. It dropped a freeze plug about a year ago and has sat ever since. Should I pound in a new plug and try it. Or is the block most likely cracked too? Not to familiar with these cars other than some YouTube videos and seems like these are tanks. Lol anyways I wanna know how reliable the 4x4 system is and also how strong the motor is? Has anyone put a turbo on these? I'm not sure what sub model it is because it's been debaged. It has a 3.0l v6 motor with an auto trans. I've done quite a few turbo builds and was just wondering if this is worth it or if I should just pull the motor and put something like a 2jz or 5.3ls motor?

Did a freeze plug "fell out" due to coolant freezing in the block? The plugs are there to reduce chance of the block cracking if the coolant freezes. If that what happened, then sounds like it worked the way it supposed. I'd put a new plug in, fill it up with coolant, change oil (sitting for long time degrades it) and see what happens.
Can't help you with your turbo question. I hope someone with more knowledge in this area will pipe in.

I found a few videos of v8 pajero's, what's the difference between the pajero and montero besides LHD? And unfortunatly I can't find any build specs in the videos or comments pertaining to how the stock drivetrain holds up or if it must be swapped. I have a decent amount of exsperience with diy auto tune and megasquirt I was thinking about keeping the stock v6 and swapping the ecu upgrading the injectors and fuel rail, tuning for e85, Add a 53mm turbonetics turbocharger. Just to give you an idea of what I have already done
