Hello guys,

I have a 2000 Montero Sport that I am having some issues with.

The vehicle had BAT/BRAKE light come on, so I changed the alt. with a used unit from salvage yard.

1 day later, same thing. I removed it and had it tested, and they said it was bad.

I bought a new aftermarket 85 amp alt and put it on. No charge!

My question is on the two wire (a little white one and a little bigger red one) plug that goes into the back of this alt. what should I have? As it sits now, I have constant 12v on the red wire, and 12v that is switched on/off with the ign key on the white wire. Is this correct?

Please remember these are the little wires on the plug, not the heavy wire that gets bolted the the alt. Thanks in advance!
