2002 Montero/Pajero auto - 4th gear slippage?
Hi
New here (first post).
I have a 2002 Grand Pajero (Montero/Shogun other places) 3.2 Di-D automatic, that's done around 120k miles.
The car runs great, except it's kind of "bogging down" when shifting to 4th while pushed. If I upshift from third under heavy acceleration, the engine revs spend the first few seconds dropping a bit, after which it catches on and then resumes acelerating.
Now, of course, I'm worried that this is a sign of a worn out transmission, and since I've just bought the thing half a year ago, I'm trying to convince the dealer that there actually is a problem.
I read somewhere that the 4th gear on these transmissions is a weak spot - but I can't find any real info on it, do any of you guys know anything about it?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Tommy
