Damn. Sorry to hear that. Did the belt actually broke? That's a poor a** rebuild job. It must have been done incorrectly. I agree with jhill15 - look into small courts claim. You were sold a vehicle with rebuild engine. Properly rebuilt engines do not self destruct after 20 miles.

Man that really sucks! Im sorry to hear that the lemon laws protect private party sells. How many miles does it have on it? And if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for it?
I would definitely file against him in small claims court, as well as the mechanic who did the rebuild.

Get the shop manual and do it your self and save a ton of money. It's really simple when you have the manual to help you. Change both head gaskets, front and rear cam seals, water pump, timing belt, Repair the valves and valve job, spark plugs and seals. Just get the kits, it's much better that way...
