Hi all, first time posting here, just joined up.

My wife and I bought an 03 Montero Sport last week to replace our Pontiac G6, this way both of us had an AWD vehicle for wintertime, now that we have a little one in the family, we wanted her to be safe(r).

Anyway, the dealership only had 1 grey valet key with the vehicle. They had called the previous owner to see if they had either another valet, or the black master key, but we have yet to hear back from them.

If we do not hear back, what are my options for getting another key? As I understand it you need 2 working keys to program one yourself, correct?

Am I forced now to go to a dealership, or will a good locksmith be able to get me another key? Our local Mitsubishi dealer went out of business last year, and the closest one is about 45 minutes away.
