2005 Limited
Hi all,
So I've been looking for a 'new' car for a while now. I really want a 4x4...These midwest winters are killing me! I came across a 2005 Montero Limited at a dealership and instantly fell in love. I've never felt so comfortable in a vehicle before. It's so beautiful inside and out, purrrs like a kitten and runs and drives amazingly!
I'm just looking for a little advice. When I found out the price was $9999 and the mileage is 175,000 I got a little nervous. It seemed like a lot of money to spend on such high mileage. Now, reading even more reviews and seeing that Kelly Blue Book suggests a retail price (with that mileage) at $9500, maybe it's not so crazy. I've looked at dozens of cars and I just keep coming back to the Montero.
Any advice on whether this is absurd to even consider this? Assuming I can't talk the lot down a little, would you even consider this? Thanks in advance!

Compare prices in craigslist, and i think if you buy from a private seller you'll save some money. And i think the mileage is on the high side, mine is a 2002 limited an has 115,000 miles, and just make sure the timing belt has been replaced.

I just bought one after a long search. Since you mentioned winter use, you have some time. I went to Kelly blue book, Edmunds, and NADA then I averaged out the price. Their asking price is way too high for a 175k car IMO. Ive seen some good ones on cars.com. Its hard to find a Montero with low mileage, but they pop up once in a while. Good luck.
