I have checked the manual. I have searched this and other Mitsi forums. I've YouTubed it. No luck. The button on the shift (automatic) was a bit sticky this week when trying to shift.

This morning, the car started but won't shift out of park. I know most cars have a little panel near the shifter that I can pull up and manually force the car out of park. I cannot, for the life of me, find this on my car. It's in an underground parking garage, so space is limited for a tow.

Brake lights are fine, btw. Any suggestions? Badly needed. Thanks!

Thanks for that. It was actually the mechanism inside the shifter (small plastic piece behind the button) that had broken. The problem wasn't diagnosing it, so much as it was getting the car to release from park. That involved removing the cup holders, taking out 2 screws and then lifting the console up partially (it was a 2-person job) so one person could get the screwdriver in there to release the shifter.
