97' Motero LS 3.5V6 Leaking antifreeze at rear of engine.
I pressurize the cooling system to 10 PSI and antifreeze leaks down both sides of the transmission. Some coolant in Vee of motor also under waterpump bypass tube. Have upper/mid intake manifold off and still cannot see exactly where it's coming from. I'm standing on my head using all sorts of mirrors but just can't pinpoint it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help- Jim

97' Montero LS antifreeze leak at rear of engine
I'll be getting the lower intake manifold off tommorow so I can see a bit better. I will replace the heater hoses while I'm back there. I've been a busy putting rod bearings in my #3 sons Gen 1 Eclipse GS-T!!

97' Montero water leak
Source of leak was bad water pump. The weep hole ( so you know when the seal goes bad in the nose of the pump) drains into the valley. Antifreeze fills up the valley and runs out on the top of the transmission. I removed the steel bypass pipe that plugs into the back of the water pump to inspect. It along with the Y junction at the back of the block look good. Bead blasted both along with top water pipe ( from thermostat housing to Y pipe) and powdercoated them. New gaskets, O-rings, heater hoses and water pump will be here shortly. The radiator is missing about 2" of fins at bottom so it will be replaced. Mxmikie- what kind of rad do you have, what do you have to get for it and where are you located? I'm in Wisconsin.
