Best shocks for OME
#2
I've had my OME suspension now for over a year. The rig gets driven hard off-road fairly often and shows no sign of fatigue. Most of the back country trips are with the whole family (wife, kids, and dog), so the monty is laden with all our gear, and supplies including drinking water for up to a week.
I have the med. duty rear suspension. After speaking to the ARB rep, who said the heavy duty rear is a constant load suspension, I went with the med which is a variable rate set up. Since we use it around town this seemed like a good move.
In the front I have the heavy duty suspension. With the ARB bull bar (and a winch in the future), I needed the heavy according to the rep.
The front strut part # is: N129S
The rear shock # is: N110
The coil #'s are either OME915 or OME917
(I can't recall which one is front and which one is rear.)
I have not heard about the life of OME suspension being any worse than any quality set up. All suspensions have a limited life, especially when you use it for what it's made- 4x4 driving.
The handling of your rig will truly improve with any quality after market suspension. I went with ARB because my brother wasn't coming over from Australia to visit, so I couldn't get the coils I really wanted- Lovells.
I've got only great feed back on my OME suspension.
