Blown tire shredded rear fender flare
Hello hello
I had a tire blow out on freeway and the rubber tread separated and whipped the rear fender flare and mud flap off . I'm going to get a replacement at pick a part but I don't know how to remove the flat screws/rivets that hold it to the fender
I hope somebody here has some experience with removing and installing a stock replacement but not from the same scary blow out method
Any and all help is greatly appreciated
Thank you

That looks like a pop-rivet. Originally there are regular sheet metal screws there, but they probably got replaced by someone at some point in the vehicle's life. If this is the case - you have to drill out the center of it. Use a large (1/4-1/2") drill bit and carefully drill until you get just through the top part of the rivet. After that, use a narrow punch to remove the back part of the rivet from the fender.

Hey hey
They definitely drilled out easy ... Aluminum ... But the other side are the same rivets ... Go figure ... Now I'm gonna do a little practice removal on some Montero's at pick a part since they don't have any that match mine yet ... Lol
