I'm baaack! Here to stay this time I hope. I sold my 87 2 door Monty in 20013 but just recently bought a 1991 4 door Monty. I will be towing it home this week due to a bad tranny. Am I correct that the 91 was the last year of the First Gen? In sourcing out parts both interior and exterior (transmission, transfer case to start) will all first Gen parts be interchangeable? How about 2nd Gen parts? I have a chance to grab a tranny and transfer case as well as a complete interior from an 88' that was in good shape before a roll over, but want to make sure it will swap. Looking forward to reading all your posts and posting pics of my mods as I go along!

Welcome back. I do hope there are people here with strong knowledge of Gen I and Gen II Monteros to help you out. Unfortunately I do not have the info you are looking for.

I also have a chance to pick up a 2nd Gen 1992 and was wondering if I could use the tranny from that as well as the interior seats and door panels.
