Red face help on my montero

hey im trying to replace a piston on my 2003 montero limited, i would like to ask anybody if i have to take out the motor or i could do it from under the truck

I'm not sure you would be able to removed the connecting rod nuts from below. Although I've never talked to anyone who has tried.

montero2003, you can do it but it's not recommended due to cleanliness issues in dealing mostly with the bearings and the internal engine components generally.

So what happened to your piston?
