Montero Sport 2002 Timing belt replacement questions
I am about to undertake the task of changing the Timing Belt and Head Gaskets (I figure I may as well do the camshaft o'rings and other gaskets since the engine leaks oil in the back, oil falls into the exhaust and burns and the water pump).
Here is my question:
1. Where should I buy the parts? Looking at websites like O'Reilly, Napa and AutoZone, all parts seem to differ in prices and brands. What is the best I can get and how do I guarantee the parts are Original?
2. What do I need to do to prepare in advance (Download engine manual, what tools do I have to have?)
My dad will be in town, and he is a retire mechanic, so I we are doing this together. I have read previous threads, but found nothing on parts and tools.
Thanks in advance!

The stickies have good info for timing belt replacement and how to download a manual.
I have lots of pictures in my rebuild thread also https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mi...removal-48920/
For the most part I have been very happy with the Fel-Pro head gasket kit and head bolts and AISIN timing belt kit which included water pump I bought from RockAuto. The head gasket kit does not include the camshaft thrust plate o-rings which I got from Mitsubishi (part numbers in my thread). I also did not use the exhaust manifold gaskets and bought from Mitsubishi.
Good luck!
