Default My new (to me) 2006 Monty

I just acquired a 2006 Montero, Carbon Gray with a black interior. It has about 56,000 miles on it and runs very well. Has the large sunroof, wood steering wheel and interior - I'm loving it.

Need ideas on mods - can anyone point me to some stores or websites that specialize in them? Wouldn't mind doing some JDM mods either.

Hope to hear from other full size Monty owners out there.

Here's a pic. This one isn't mine - it's just one I found on the web that looks like mine.

Awesome! I got rid of my old monte 03, but im thinking of an off road rig and I want to know what the main difference from an 06 Montero from an 03.

I think the main difference is the tire pressure monitoring system. How does it show up in your 06 console?

Sorry for the delayed response - the TPMS is just a blinking light that appears - it doesn't show the actual tire pressure or which tire it is - it just blinks if it thinks one is low. Had it for almost a year and no issues to report - averaging about 15mpg in city driving with some expressway commuting.

The spare tire in the back is running low. The tps is only monitoring that tire.

@BenckJ - yeah - I'd like to see the differences myself. 2006 was the last model year for the "full size" Montero here in the US - they only came as "Limited" models - fully loaded, large sunroof, heated leather seats - mine has wood trim on the dash and wheel. No issues what so ever. I haven't done any mods yet - the first one I'd like to do is put in a better sound system - I'm thinking of relocating the Climate Control panel down low to where the CD changer is, then replace the original head unit with a new system that supports CarPlay.

Would like some ideas on tire/wheels/suspension suggestions - I can't seem to find any good resources on the net - at least here in the US.

Post some pics of yours - we can compare and see what differences there are.

One other item - it also has a folding third row seat good for a couple of kids on a short trip.

I'll post pics of mine this week.

Thanks.

Have a look at one of my earlier threads with full pics. I have full options on mine including Fosgate sound system. Will post up later pics when off my phone.
