Hey everybody new to the forum I have a huge problem with my02 limited my radiator went belly up a few months back I ordered a new one from Mitsubishi ($700 f$$&&ing dollars) had it installed and after a month the entire bottom seal blew on it at 4 am in the middle of my 30 mile mountain drive to work and I had to walk for 5 miles because there is no service... Anyway radiator is warrantied so no worries there my problem is is drained all coolest so fast and I had no water that I think engine got to hot now engine won't turn over starter sounds like its working but when you turn key you get a whirring sound but no catch or even a cough from the engine did the motor seize from the heat WTF please help

If the starter is turning, then the engine isn't ceased. The starter is failing to make contact with the flywheel for one reason or another. Either the flywheel is missing teeth, the starter is loose, or some other reason.

 

Ok thanks a place to start finally I've had emotional issues with my Montero and been pretending it wasn't broke because I wasn't sure where to start. Will check to see why contact isn't being made thank you very much
