O2 sensor (bank 2)
Could any one tell me what bank 2 refers to. Montero failed inspection because of it. I know there are 4 o2 sensors on the car. I don't want to replce all for just to replace one of the sensors. any help would be great. if bank one is one of the engine and bank 2 is the other side I'll take that. info. replacing 2 is still cheaper than 4.
thanks,
Albert

This post is WRONG!----->(((bank 1 refers to the driver side cylinder and bank 2 for the passenger side, if the error is bank 1 sensor 1 that is the sensor on the driver side pre cat converter. bank 1 sensor 2 would be the post cat. bank 2 would be the right side and so on.))) SORRY!
if ever there are more sensors then that will be bank 1 sensor 3 and so on
But this part is CORRECT ----->> black connectors wont fit into gray connectors

bank one on a montero or a montero sport is on the passengers side. bank two is obviously on the drivers side. dont know what info xyzik got, but he is wrong. sensor one is before the converter, sensor two is after the converter. each bank has two sensors. on each bank there is a sensor with a black and a gray connector, and no they will not interchange. connectors are different.

O2 Sensor Placement and Connector Locations
Sorry for the wrong info and taking a while to correct it, I took pictures and added sensor and connector locations.
