Default firing order wrong

i recently rebuilt my engine in my 1993 mitsubishi montero sport 3.0L V6
i got the timing set correctly with the marks shown online and in my chilton's book i set the timing on the ditributor and it's out of time. ive tried hundreds off diff ways i know the timings good not shure about the timing on the distributor. online it says my firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6
back of engine
5-6
3-4
1-2
front of engine

but the distributor cap says 1-2-6-4-5-3
going clockwise

chiltons says

1-3-5-6-4-2
counterclockwise

the dizzy goes clockwise not counter-clockwise

ive tried about with no avail im completely sick of this truck at this point but i am still hopefull. if anyone knows how the dizzy and wire's are really supposed to go id owe you forever thanks in advance Charlie : )

Bring #1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke and put the distributor in with the rotor pointing to #1 plugwire on the cap and see if that helps it.
