Default Starter MOtor/Solenoid issues 95 Montero V6

I have a 95 MOntero V6 3.0, in the last few days I have had trouble with it wanting to start and after poking around a bit with my old man, we discovered that the solenoid plate is sticking, would it be best to replace the whole starter or just the solenoid, and Is it a pain in the *** to swap out, like most things on this car. I've already done a timing belt and water pump, alternator, and cv joint repair, so doing the labor myself doesn't scare me. Just wondering if there were any tips on changing out such a part and where i can find one for the best deal.

I would suggest you just replace the solenoid with a genuine one and call it a day. Did mine last month, and my only problem was removing the starter due to a stuck bolt (never been removed for 10 years). Some CRC Freeze Off helped get it off and I was done in about 40 minutes.
