Default 2003 Outlander timing belt and RPM question

Just got a 2003 Outlander automatic, AWD and like the vehicle so far. The RPMs seem to be slightly of 2000 rpms when I go over 35 MPH. I drove down to a city were my son plays soccer and the gas guage barely moved and the RPMs was slightly over 2000 RPM. Coming home the guage was pretty close to 3000 RPM all the way back and I used between 1/4 to 3/8ths of a tank of gase in this roughly q40 mile trip. Thing is the car rarely sped up to keep up the speed.
Also I am trying to find out when the timing belt should be replaced. this vehicle has only 63500 mile on it.
The vehicle is going to the shop on monday as it is getting the paint cleaned up by the dealer and I am supposed to get the service report on it.
Thanks
