Red face air springs on rear suspension

Hi !

I changed my Outlander 2007 for a 2010 (LS Canadian model)

Last summer, i had installed a kit from Firestone (coil rite)

On my outlander 2007, the rear suspension was to low when i tow my RV.

The kit works great.

I ask Firestone, if i can install the kit on my new 2010.

Firestone told me that no kit is avalaible for 2009 et 2010 outlander.

I check the dimension of the coil, it look identical.

the dealer can't confirm me that the coil are the same.

Today, my mechanic installed the kit on my 2010.

I can confirm that the kit work great

i give you the url :

Thanks Rene,
I've just got some for my MY09 Outlander and am hoping to fit them this weekend, so I'm glad to know they work! What pressures do you find work with 5 adults on board?

BTW - Here in Aus if you can get them at all they retail for about $350 USD!! So I ended up getting mine from the US via a freight forwarder for around $200 USD. You guys have it so good with prices

in canada i will pay around 150-160 $ + installation

i buy it when i was comping in Maine USA, i pay 90 $ (no installation)

my mechanic take near 2 hour to make the job right

unlike what you can see and read on the instruction

you can't install it without take off some piece (believe me i try it)

you have to take off the coil to put the bag

i don't forget protect the hose with a rubber hose

when i don't use it, i put 5 lbs ans around 15-20 lbs when i tow my rv

*******************************

i put a T connector to make a jonction with 2 air line (1 from the right, 1 from the left)

after the T connector i have only 1 hose to fill air

Well I've fitted mine. I didn't have to remove the springs or anything, just put the back up on stands then with a lot of wriggling and pushing (with two people) had them in in about 15 minutes. Then hooked up the air lines (made up a metal bracket to go with the trailer lights plug). I had a bit of an issue with the hose to valve connection leaking initially but now it's okay now. Whole job only took a couple of hours. So far so good, haven't really tried them with a big load yet.

Some pictures of my installation on my outlander 2007

presently, i did't take picture yet on my outlander 2010

When i drive with my camping trailer (Aliner 2009 expedition, 2300 lbs with nothing)

the rear is not saggy and it's more easy to drive

because i don't feel the trailer pull the outlander back

and when i drive on road with bumps the ride is great

i put 15 lbs in the air suspension, it's enough

Default Good info.

I have a set of bags coming from etrailer right now. I've installed a set on my Sienna so I know the game plan. Good to hear there is no suspension uncoupling required, just hard pushing.

My 2007 is also quite rusty. I was under the impression the exhaust system was supposed to be stainless steel. Certainly doesn't look that way.
