Fuel Filter on 03 Outlander? In the gas tank?
Hi, My 03 Outlander (4 cylinder 4wd)has been having some intermittent issues where it won't start. If I spray some starting fluid into the air intake it seems to jump start it and it will start.
I was thinking of changing the fuel filter and from the parts diagrams I am seeing, it is part of the fuel Pump and you need to drop the gas tank to get at it.
It's hard to believe any manufacturer would do that. Has anyone else had similar issue and knows if the filter is actually in the tank?

I have an 05 and according to the service manual it sounds like it is readily accessable. I know some vehicles have a large pre-filter in the tank itself for larger items such as rust particles but the actual fuel filter should be outside the tank from what I can see.
