Help with transmission issue-Outlander 2011
I owned a 2011 outlander SUV (4 cylinder) and never missed a single service with the Mitsubishi dealer. It clicked around 180K. (Mitsubishi Powertrain warranty is 160K in Canada). Last week I observed some vibration at the front wheels’ when the SUV was going at low speed. I took it to my dealer for a checkup. After diagnostic, they said as both tie rods have worn out and showing some play, both should be replaced. They replaced both at a cost of $400 but the issue was not resolved and recommended to replace both front drive shafts. Following day, when I was on a local road the vibration started all of sudden and it came to a situation wheels shuddered and struggle to move further. I parked the SUV and on the following day, I towed to the dealer shop. They did diagnostic again and reported that issue is not with the drive shaft but with the transmission which should be replaced. I asked them why. The answer was that they did a transmission pressure test and the pressure reading was below 60 which should be above 300, as such transmission to be replaced. I would like to know whether is it the correct diagnostic and replacement is necessary the only reason the pressure is below the limit. Do I need to get a second opinion on this? I hear transmission can be repairable. Any comments will be very much appreciated as it going to cost a fortune if the transmission to be replaced. Thanks

I would get a 2nd opinion, preferably from a transmission shop. Also, I'd be contacting mitsubishi of north america and lodge a complaint against the dealership. It is insane that you go from tie rods, to cv shafts, to a blown transmission.
one last thing, have you been doing your transmission fluid changes as the schedule recommends?
